This is so true and I have felt/ do feel this way lots of times too.
However, why should I aim to be at my perceived standard of another girl’s “pretty” or to want to look like another girl in any way? Despite the fact that those girls are probably also looking to another girl and hoping they’d be pretty like her, we’re all different for a reason. If we looked like someone else or constantly strove to look like another person, we’d lose our uniqueness.
And another thing. When we strive to be perfect, who says we’d love ourselves more when we have attained that “perfection”? Wouldn’t we just want more?
Even if you attained that “perfection”, you may not love yourself (and if you don’t feel good about yourself, what is the point of looking “perfect”?). But loving yourself as you are would make you see yourself perfectly.
